The King
Heikki Virolainen, 1965
This Wing of the Gallery depicts the story of The Kalevala
as told through the tales and poems of the oBo tribe, one of the
greater tribes of the Yeti.

The Kalevala was collected and compiled by Elias Linnrot in 1835, following
his travels throughout Karelia, in what is now Eastern Finland and
western Russia.

This work became the backbone of Finnish nationalism, and
has since been translated into more than 33 languages.

The Illustrations are those of 19th and 20th century artists, who,
having read the Kalevala and heard first-hand the stories and
songs from the bards and poets, before they disappeared into
urban cvilization.

In particular, these are the tales of the oBo tribe.
